Exam Policies

JCQ regulations require centres to have written policies/procedures in place as detailed in The Exams Office Policy Checklist (see below). These policies may be checked during a general inspection visit by the JCQ Centre Inspection Service (CIS) or during additional inspection visits as deemed appropriate by the CIS

It is the responsibility of the senior leadership team to ensure that these policies are in place

Each academic year, The Exams Office produces a Exam Policy/Procedures Checklist which highlights the policies required by JCQ regulations, those which are required for inspection purposes and the policies which may be created as good practice or to address specific issues within a centre (e.g. late arrival, managing behaviour, food and drink, etc.)

Policy Generator Tool

If your centre has a membership to The Exams Office, you can access the Policy Generator Tool. This is an interactive online tool designed for centres to build exam related policy/procedure documents – access to the tool is included within your centre membership to The Exams Office

Login to The Exams Office Hub to access the tool

What the tool offers

The tool allows interaction with templates to personalise policies/procedures for use in member centres.

Once a policy is created within the Policy Generator Tool, it can be amended and updated as many times as required, and will save centres considerable time when completing the annual task of updating all exams-related policies and procedures.
